Training & Experience

I received my undergraduate degree from Cornell University and my medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.  I went on to complete a residency at Thomas Jefferson University and received additional psychotherapy training at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.

Prior to starting a private practice, I served as the founding Director of the Medical and Graduate Student Mental Health program at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, Assistant Professor, and Director of Ambulatory Services in the Psychiatry Department. I’ve been chosen as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Ambassador to the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes Foundation, and Honoree of the Philadelphia Business Journal 40 under 40 award.

Approach to Psychiatric Care

I believe in privacy, accessibility, and compassionate care that is consistent and reliable. I roll up my sleeves and search for the origins of the symptoms that lead to suffering. I address issues both psychologically (how can one manage thoughts and feelings internally) and behaviorally (what can one do externally in their everyday life to feel better). I advocate for patients and collaborate with other team members, such as therapists, nutritionists, and primary care doctors.

My goal is to be an important tool in your management of your mental health. We may address diet, exercise, sleep, gratitude, social connectedness, and meaning/productivity. I find that navigating challenges can be like looking into a kaleidoscope: a shift in attitude and perspective can lead to meaningful changes in quality of life. It is a priority of mine to focus on your strengths, as I strive to build a genuine relationship of mutual respect and trust.

Although I do not accept health insurance, I can provide a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
